This role supports the financial integrity of the organization by performing account reconciliations, processing transactions, preparing regulatory reports, and assisting with audit activities. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to supporting operational excellence across the property portfolio.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following duties. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Accounting Operations Review invoices for accuracy and process payments in accordance with company procedures. Prepare checks and maintain supporting financial documentation. Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting. Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies promptly. Calculate and record management fees for assigned properties. Property Accounting Post rental income, deposits, and related transactions within the accounting system. Review resident termination settlements to ensure financial accuracy and policy compliance. Calculate vacancies and maintain accurate occupancy related financial records. Monitor reserve accounts and process transfers as required by regulatory agencies, lenders, and company policies. Electronically process and submit deposits to banking institutions. Reporting & Compliance Prepare reports required by governmental agencies, investors, lenders, and other governing bodies. Prepare and file annual reporting requirements including 1099 forms and sales tax filings. Prepare audit schedules and compile documentation required for annual audits. Maintain accounting records in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or property accounting experience preferred. Affordable housing, multifamily, real estate, or property management accounting experience highly preferred. Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and account reconciliations preferred. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and intermediate to advanced bookkeeping practices.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Proficiency with accounting software and property management platforms. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, accounts payable, and financial reporting processes. Ability to prepare regulatory and compliance related financial reports. Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills.
