Job Description
Job Title:
Property Accountant Multifamily management Belcastle Management Company is a family business operating in Bismarck ND where it handles all aspects of 5 multi-family properties (480 apartments in total) management and maintenance. We are seeking a dynamic accountant to be an integral part of our team of 17 highly committed and supportive individuals. The person we are looking for would be working in close collaboration with the team and help us bring this company to the next level in terms of utilizing modern technology that would simplify everybody's life. Job Summary We need a full-time detail-oriented on-site Property Accountant to manage financial records for our multifamily real estate portfolio. You will handle daily accounting, monthly financial close processes, tenant ledger maintenance and payroll. You will work closely with management and report directly to the owner. You will be a strategic partner in helping improve our processes and inefficiencies.Key Responsibilities General Ledger:
Maintain general ledgers, prepare journal entries, and reconcile bank accounts for multiple residential properties.Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, per GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process vendor invoices, manage tenant accounts, review rent rolls, and track collections.Audit Support:
Gather documents and assist with annual external audits and tax filings.Lease Administration:
Review new tenant leases, verify security deposits, and ensure accurate move-in/move-out financial processing.Payroll:
Manage the full-cycle payroll for our team and handle daily accounting. Process bi-weekly payroll for all on-site and corporate staff. Track employee hours, commission, bonuses, vacation, sick and paid time off. Handle payroll deductions, benefits, and tax filings. Answer employee questions about paychecks and benefits.Qualifications Education:
Bachelor or Associate degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience:
Preferably 2+ years of experience in accounting. Experience in property accounting experience, specifically within multifamily residential real estate would be a plus.Software Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and cloud-based technology. We have been using Quick Books and are currently in the process of transitioning to utilizing our property management software AppFolio to its full accounting capabilities. Advanced Excel skills.Knowledge:
Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles, tenant ledgers, and standard financial reporting. Skills and Competencies Strong attention to detail and high accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work with property managers, owners and vendors. Ability to meet strict monthly financial closing deadlines.Perks:

Pay:
$56,000.00- $71,000.
