GCS provides construction management services for the full spectrum of commercial projects and is well known for superior customer service and agility in the fast-paced work environment of construction. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines while working collaboratively with construction managers, contractors, clients, and the accounting team. Key Responsibilities Review contractor pay requests and work with contractors to ensure accuracy and completeness each month. Maintain project spreadsheets and financial information throughout the month. Work with construction managers to prepare and distribute change orders for signature. Prepare monthly construction draws and send to clients in a timely manner. Create spreadsheets for the bidding process and work with the office manager to review bids on bid day. Review contracts and enter project information into Procore. Create and maintain spreadsheets for all new projects. Collaborate with partners, construction managers, and the accounting team to ensure project accounting is accurate and up to date. Assist with accounts payable processes, including reviewing, coding, and processing vendor invoices and preparing payments. Respond to contractor questions regarding pay requests and change orders. Maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, architects, and other project stakeholders. Serve as the primary backup to the office manager. Assist with miscellaneous projects and tasks as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field; or an associate's degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. 2+ years of construction accounting or construction industry experience preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities. High level of organization and attention to detail. Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Technical Proficiency Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Microsoft Office Suite:
Word, Outlook, Excel. Experience with Procore or other construction management software preferred. Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam, or other construction document management software. Preferred Skills Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry. Experience with construction accounting, pay applications, change orders, and project financial processes.
