Job Description

John T. Jones Construction Co. is seeking a full-time Payroll, AP & Job Cost Accounting Specialist. We are a medium-sized General Contracting Firm specializing in Water/ Wastewater Construction.
Responsibilities:
Payroll, Accounts Payable, Job Costing/Equipment Process payroll for 50+ employees weekly, including payments for garnishments, child support obligations, payroll tax deposit Process accounts payable from invoice to payment Assist in administering and maintaining employee records and benefits policies. Reconciliation of Vendor statements and Customer payments Maintain payment files and invoice files Responsible for the assembling, processing, reviewing and submission of applications for payment for multiple projects Lien waiver maintenance Job cost tracking, analysis and reporting Process budget changes and maintain project files in orderly, organized manner. Communicate with Project Managers and senior management on all aspects of construction accounting. Track and monitor tools, vehicles, and equipment locations Maintain records of miles/hours on vehicles and equipment to assist in maintenance planning Perform/review bank account and petty cash reconciliations Process withholding and sales tax returns Assist with general office duties as required
Skills/Education:
2-5 years in a related position, construction industry a plus High School Diploma, 2-year degree preferred but not required Competent with computers & exposure to accounting software Proficient in Microsoft Excel ,
Word & Outlook Characteristics:
Detail oriented Self Starter Time management Ability to work within a team environment
