Job Description

Tax Professional Quality Tax Preparation, a 35+ year established tax firm seeking an experienced income tax professional to join our team in Williston, ND. We are looking for an individual with at least 3 years of income tax preparation experience, as you will be responsible for organizing and preparing a broad spectrum of returns.   • 3+ years experience preparing 1040 returns required. This is for you to be capable of handling the complexity of returns you will be preparing for our clients.
  • CPA or EA credentials are a plus, but not required.
  • Experience preparing 1065, 1120-S, 1041, and 990 returns is a plus, however an ability and willingness to learn is much more important.
  • Salaried position of $50k-$70k depending on experience and level of knowledge, with lots of opportunity to grow your salary.
  • Ability to manage your workload is important. Our preparers are given a lot of freedom and flexibility to manage their schedules and are not micro-managed.
  • A senior preparer is planning to retire after the 2027 filing season. He will be available to you for any questions about the clients, files, and unique situations you will be overseeing.
  • We work relatively long hours during tax season, but generally 25-30 hours per week in the off season. All-in-all this office provides excellent work/life balance.
  • The software we utilize daily includes: Lacerte, SmartVault, Outlook, Excel, and Word. On-the-job training will be provided as needed if you are unfamiliar with any of the software.
  • We are primarily a tax preparation firm. You will NOT be responsible for client payroll or payroll reporting Some of the clients you will be working with will require some basic bookkeeping. However, bookkeeping is a relatively small part of the job.
