We provide painting, janitorial, housekeeping, porter services, unit turnovers, property maintenance, renovations, and other services to residential and commercial properties. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage daily accounting activities and support accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of accounting principles, QuickBooks, reconciliations, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, expenses, and financial reporting. The Senior Accountant will work closely with company leadership and operations and will also provide guidance to the Accounting & Invoicing Intern. Key Responsibilities Manage daily accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records. Perform monthly bank, credit card, and account reconciliations. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Review expenses and transactions and resolve discrepancies. Maintain and manage the company's QuickBooks system. Record invoices, payments, expenses, deposits, and other transactions accurately. Apply and reconcile customer payments. Maintain accurate customer and vendor records. Oversee invoicing and ensure invoices have proper documentation. Monitor outstanding invoices and accounts receivable aging. Follow up on customer payments and outstanding balances. Work with operations to resolve billing discrepancies. Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership. Assist with budgeting and financial planning. Review financial information for accuracy and completeness. Identify accounting discrepancies and communicate concerns to leadership. Provide guidance and training to the Accounting & Invoicing Intern. Review work for accuracy and help ensure accounting deadlines are met. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 3+ years of professional accounting experience. Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks. Experience with reconciliations, accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and financial reporting. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information. Preferred Experience Experience in property management, construction, general contracting, facilities management, property services, or maintenance services is strongly preferred. Experience with project-based billing, customer invoicing, collections, vendor expenses, and working with multiple properties or projects is a plus. Ideal Candidate We are looking for a professional, organized, analytical, and proactive accounting professional who can work independently, take ownership of accounting responsibilities, identify discrepancies, follow up on outstanding balances, maintain accurate records, and communicate financial information clearly to leadership. This is an in-office position in Bayonne, NJ, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.
