Job Description

The New York Yankees Double-A Affiliate, Somerset Patriots are looking for qualified individuals to fill internship positions during the 2027 season.
Program Description:
Members of the Internship Program will be exposed to all facets of a Minor League Baseball organization and will gain practical, in-depth experience from one of the positions listed below. Members will also gain valuable experience from season-long learning projects that covers various aspects of sport management, including grass roots marketing, theme night creation and execution, ballpark entertainment, sales, video production, and business presentations. Help with resumes and interviewing will also be covered. Prospective candidates will be asked to note their preferred choice of position when applying, however, the Patriots will ultimately decide the position to offer you that best suits your skills and our needs. Ideal candidates will be juniors or seniors in college and/or recent graduates; however, freshman and sophomores are also welcome to apply.
Compensation:
$250 per week stipend and college credit can also be earned if applicable to the student.
Time Frame/Work Schedule:
(April 2027 - September 2027) Interns are expected to begin their internship as soon as they are done with classes for the spring semester and stay until one week before school starts the following year. Graduated seniors are expected to stay until the season has concluded. Recent college graduates are expected to work from the beginning of the season (April) until the season has concluded. Hours are full time. Interns are required to work the same amount of days and hours as the full time Front Office Staff. There are 69 home games, additional outside events, and regular non-game day office hours that you will be required to work. This includes nights, weekends and holidays. Interns will be required to sign a document indicating their start/end dates prior to acceptance of the position. No vacations will be permitted during the season. Accounting (1 positions available) Candidate will primarily report to the Patriots Controller and will assist with various accounting aspects at the ballpark. Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Run all accounting sales, cost of sales & inventory, reports for Homeplate Catering activity. Complete and reconcile Game Day Reports for Homeplate Catering. Gain knowledge of POS system in order to resolve discrepancies. Identify and research any differences and/or problems. Prepare and enter daily sales, COGS, and inventory journal entries into QuickBooks. Process all internal and external billings and submit to Patriots controller. Assist with counting prior day sales receipts for Patriots activity. Preparation of Patriots Game Day Cash Pouches. Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable for Patriots and Homeplate Catering. Assist with the Merchandise Department as needed. Assist with daily game day, and non-game day activity. Assist with miscellaneous tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Required:
High school diploma plus accounting courses or accounting experience. Understanding of balance sheet and income statement accounts. Ability to communicate and understand written and oral direction. Ability to maintain and complete deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of MS Office, QuickBooks or computerized accounting systems. Ability to participate in team environment concepts. Ability to work with others as well as independently. Willing to work nights and weekends during home stands, OTHER
REQUIREMENTS
Mobility is needed to attend various meetings and events. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Please Note:
