Staff Accountant -
Nonprofit Organization Job Summary:
A nonprofit organization is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This position will work closely with the finance team on general ledger activities, reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries. Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Prepare financial reports and assist with budget tracking and variance analysis. Monitor expenses and ensure transactions are properly coded and documented. Assist with grant and restricted-fund accounting and reporting. Support annual audits and provide requested financial documentation. Maintain accurate accounting records and assist with internal controls. Perform other accounting and finance duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. 2+ years of accounting experience. Strong understanding of general accounting principles. Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. Strong Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Nonprofit or fund accounting experience a plus. Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
