Up to $70,000 | Excellent Benefits Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking a Payroll Accountant to join their collaborative Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who values meaningful work, a supportive team environment, and a strong work-life balance. About the Opportunity The organization is looking for someone who can step into a key role supporting biweekly payroll for approximately 320 employees , while also contributing to broader accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have both payroll and accounting experience, though strong accounting experience is the priority for someone willing to learn payroll. Responsibilities Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll for approximately 320 employees Review timesheets, payroll changes, deductions, overtime, PTO, and payroll exceptions Reconcile payroll-related accounts, taxes, benefits, and liabilities Prepare payroll journal entries and assist with general ledger reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries Assist with audits, reporting, and financial analysis Support general accounting projects as needed Identify opportunities to improve payroll and accounting processes Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 3+ years of accounting experience; payroll experience strongly preferred Nonprofit experience is a plus, but not required Compensation & Benefits Salary up to $70,000 , depending on experience Medical, dental, and vision coverage Competitive HSA and EPO plan options Strong overall value in healthcare coverage 401(k) match of 50% up to 4% Collaborative, mission-focused work environment
Schedule:
