POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly financial statement preparation, evaluating operating costs, and preparing summaries as required for effective financial management of the business. As the Staff Accountant, you are a member of the Finance team, and you are accountable for meeting the deadlines set by the manager, government, and other reporting authorities. Your efforts contribute to meeting company-wide profitability and customer satisfaction goals by producing accurate financial information and a thorough analysis of that information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and provide support during financial and tax audits as needed. Maintain and update financial records and documentation. Participate in special accounting projects and initiatives as needed. Allocate cash balances and maintain investment records, including some forecasting. Responsible for the accounting and processing of the company-wide commodity program. Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
COMPETENCIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a public company or public accounting firm Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Knowledge of JD Edwards is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and with individuals from multiple disciplines and with varying levels of experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
N/A US Salary Pay Range $60,000 - $70,000
