•Real Estate A growing real estate organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position will support the financial reporting and accounting activities for an assigned portfolio of properties, including preparation of workpapers, reconciliations, journal entries, budgets, and monthly financial statements. This is a strong opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build experience within the real estate industry. Responsibilities Prepare monthly workpapers, financial statements, schedules, and management reports for an assigned portfolio of properties. Prepare and post journal entries and other accounting transactions, and perform bank and general ledger reconciliations to ensure account balances are accurate. Review and analyze assigned general ledger accounts, research discrepancies, and resolve outstanding reconciling items. Review invoices and expenditures to ensure transactions are properly coded, classified, and recorded. Review tenant security deposits at move-out and ensure applicable refunds are processed accurately. Assist with the preparation of annual property budgets. Partner with property management and other members of the accounting team to research and resolve accounting questions and issues. Assist with year-end close activities and prepare supporting schedules and documentation. Receive training on internal accounting systems, procedures, and processes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 1-2 years of accounting experience. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook. CPA track is a plus. Real estate or property accounting experience is preferred but not required. Experience with Yardi, MRI, Nexus, IBS, or other property accounting systems is a plus.
