Overview We're partnering with a well-established organization in the South Jersey area that is looking to add an Accounts Receivable Accountant to its accounting team. This role is focused on the more analytical side of accounts receivable, including researching payment discrepancies, auditing customer remittances, resolving chargebacks and pricing issues, managing collections, and reconciling receivable activity. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working in a high-volume environment and enjoys digging into issues to understand why an invoice was short-paid, overpaid, disputed, or left outstanding. Responsibilities Audit customer payments and remittances at the invoice level Research short payments, overpayments, unpaid invoices, and account discrepancies Investigate chargebacks, deductions, and pricing variances Partner with Sales and Accounting to resolve billing and pricing issues Manage assigned AR aging and follow up on past-due accounts Communicate with customers regarding collections and payment issues Assist with receivable and general ledger reconciliations Monitor customer accounts for potential credit risk Analyze AR activity, payment trends, and collection performance Support internal and external audits with documentation and reconciliations Help identify opportunities to improve AR processes and internal controls Maintain strong relationships with customers while enforcing payment terms Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit & Collections, or a related accounting function Experience with chargebacks, deductions, pricing discrepancies, or AR auditing strongly preferred Strong ability to research and resolve payment and invoice issues Experience working with high-volume customer accounts Strong Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems Solid reconciliation and analytical skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Comfortable communicating with customers, Sales, and internal leadership Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, although strong relevant experience will also be considered
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
