Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team in New Jersey in a Contract to Permanent role. This position is ideal for an accounting specialist with experience supporting core financial operations in a manufacturing setting, including payables, receivables, and ledger activity. The selected candidate will contribute to accurate reporting, maintain financial records, and help ensure timely completion of month-end accounting tasks.
Responsibilities:
Manage daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and processed on schedule. Prepare and post journal entries to support routine accounting operations and monthly financial reporting. Maintain the general ledger by reviewing account activity, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate account balances. Perform bank reconciliations and investigate variances to keep cash records current and reliable. Track fixed asset activity, including additions, disposals, and depreciation, in accordance with company policies. Assist with month-end close by organizing supporting documentation and completing assigned accounting schedules. Partner with internal teams to gather financial information and improve the accuracy of transactional reporting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting. Ability to prepare journal entries and support month-end close activities with strong attention to detail. Experience performing bank reconciliations and researching account discrepancies. Knowledge of fixed asset accounting and related recordkeeping processes. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
