This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working with a diverse client base while developing their technical expertise in a collaborative and supportive environment. The Role As a Tax Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing tax returns, assisting with tax planning initiatives, researching tax issues, and supporting clients with a range of compliance requirements. You'll work closely with senior team members to ensure accurate, timely service while building long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates. Assist with tax planning projects and identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency for clients. Research tax legislation and resolve technical tax questions. Review financial records and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting. Communicate directly with clients to request information and provide updates throughout the engagement process. Support tax compliance, estimated tax calculations, and year-end planning. Collaborate with colleagues across tax and accounting teams to deliver high-quality client service. Maintain organised workpapers and ensure assignments are completed within deadlines. Stay current with changes to federal and state tax regulations and accounting standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA licence or active progress toward CPA certification preferred. 2-5 years of public accounting experience with a focus on taxation. Experience preparing individual and business tax returns. Working knowledge of federal and New Jersey tax regulations. Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software. Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
