Job Description:
Senior Fund Accountant | Alternative Investments | NYC At a certain point in fund accounting, you want to do more than just get through another close. You want more ownership, better exposure to senior leadership, and a role where strong performance can actually lead somewhere. We're partnering with a growing alternative investment manager looking to add a Senior Fund Accountant to its finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone coming from a fund administrator or asset manager who wants to get closer to the business and continue building toward a Fund Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller role. What you'll be doing:
  • Own key pieces of the monthly and quarterly close
  • Review NAVs, capital accounts and investor allocations
  • Calculate management fees, carry and distributions
  • Partner with and oversee third-party fund administrators
  • Support quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Work directly with auditors, tax providers and other external partners
  • Assist with investor reporting, capital calls and distributions
  • Gain exposure to valuations and underlying investment activity
  • Help improve processes as the platform continues to grow Why make the move?
This isn't a role where you'll be buried in one small piece of the accounting process. You'll get broader exposure across the fund lifecycle, work closely with experienced finance leadership, and have the opportunity to take on more responsibility as you prove yourself. The ideal candidate has 3-6+ years of fund accounting experience within an alternative investment manager, fund administrator or public accounting firm with investment management clients. If you're looking for a role that gives you more ownership today and a clearer path toward Manager and Controller-level responsibilities tomorrow , this is worth a conversation.
