Job Description
Our client, a manufacturing company located in Vineland, NJ is looking for a Plant Accountant to join their team. What you will do in this role: Monitor and analyze production costs, including labor, materials, and overhead, to ensure accurate cost accounting. Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and forecasts for the plant. Conduct variance analysis between actual costs and budgeted figures, providing insights to management. Oversee inventory accounting, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Collaborate with plant management to develop and implement cost-saving initiatives. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls, including participation in internal audits. Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics. Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures related to financial processes. What you will bring to the role: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 7 to 10 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry. Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and regulations is a plus.
