full-time Our client, a well-known Construction firm in New York, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join it's team! Responsibilities Own and coordinate the monthly financial close process Prepare and post journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations Prepare monthly accruals, prepaids, allocations, and recurring entries Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payroll, and other balance sheet accounts Prepare supporting schedules and assist with monthly and year-end financial reporting Analyze income statement and balance sheet fluctuations and investigate variances Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, client billing, collections, and job cost accounting as needed Prepare audit support documentation and respond to auditor requests Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting processes and strengthen internal controls Assist with accounting system enhancements, ERP implementations, and general accounting projects Qualifications 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally as a Staff Accountant or Senior Staff Accountant Strong general ledger and month-end close experience Experience preparing journal entries and performing balance sheet reconciliations Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and SUMIFS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
