Job Description
- Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries and assist with month-end close.
- Calculate and file monthly gross receipts tax returns.
- Assist with payroll tax filings, reporting, and compliance-related support.
- Process deposits, post credit card receipts, and research payment discrepancies.
- Enter job budgets and assist with job-cost and management reporting in accounting system.
- Generate charts, graphs, and reports for management meetings.
- Reconcile payable statements, AR balances, deposits, and activity between systems.
- Cross train in payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to provide backup coverage when needed.
- Assist with process improvements, documentation, and stronger accounting procedures. What We Are Looking For
- Strong accounting knowledge, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
- Experience with AP, AR, payroll, deposits, tax filings, or management reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to research and resolve discrepancies.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive financial, employee, customer, and vendor information.
- Strong organization skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- Willingness to learn multiple accounting functions and provide backup support across the department.
- Construction, job-cost, materials, trucking, equipment, or multi-company accounting experience preferred. Education and Experience
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent accounting experience may be considered.
- Three or more years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
- Construction accounting, job-cost accounting, payroll, tax filing, and month-end close experience preferred.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearBenefits:
