Job Description
Review and complete assigned monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, with emphasis on payroll-related and casino-related accounts Prepare adjusting monthly journal entries, for review and posting by Financial or Gaming Controller. Prepare assigned recurring monthly journal entries by monthly close deadlines for review and posting by Financial Controller or Assistant Controller- Finance. Work closely with Casino Controllers to ensure accuracy of entries recorded to assigned gaming-related balance sheet account reconciliations. Assist with daily banking tasks. Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met. Prepare financial management reports, as assigned. Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures. Review the current procedures/practices and recommend areas for process improvement. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Follow all company policies and procedures. Safeguard and track company assets. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles Knowledge of auditing practices and principles Knowledge and experience of related computer applications. Proficient in basic PC skills, i.e.: Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and accounting software (Great Plains preferred) Minimum of 2 years' experience in a staff accountant role Attention to detail and accuracy Planning and organizing Strong communication skills Information and task monitoring Problem analysis Judgment and problem-solving Ability to bend and lift up 25 lbs. as needed
