Direct W2 Only (Strictly no Corp-to-Corp/C2C, third-party agencies, or W2 referrals) Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant I to join our finance team in Chester, NY. In this role, you will prepare, review, and file monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconcile general ledger accounts, and ensure the complete accuracy of all corporate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting:
Compile, examine, and prepare financial statements and reports to accurately reflect the company's financial position. Assist with all month-end analyses for review by the Controller prior to financial sign-off.
Variance & GL Analysis:
Analyze General Ledger accounts, reconcile inconsistencies on a monthly and quarterly basis, and determine root causes for monthly financial statement variances.
Budgeting & Research:
Research financial data to assist with budget assumptions, special projects, and custom reporting.
Issue Resolution:
Understand and navigate complex expense and revenue issues to ensure timely resolution.
Compliance & Collaboration:
Ensure SOX compliance across accounting activities and coordinate with cross-functional departments to drive financial compliance in a corporate setting.
Position Requirements Education:
4-year degree in Accounting required.
Experience:
1-2 years of office experience in an accounting or bookkeeping setting is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Extensive knowledge of and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel. Experience with Oracle EBS and Blackline is a plus.
Compliance:
Familiarity with SOX compliance standards.
Core Competencies:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
