Job Description
Sr. Cost Accountant Posted on August 5, 2025 August 5, 2025 by JMJ Phillip We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Sr. Cost Accountant to join our client's growing team. This role will play a critical part in managing cost accounting functions, improving cost control processes, and supporting financial decision-making through accurate cost analysis. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, manufacturing or production industry experience, and a collaborative approach to working across departments. Position Responsibilities Cost Accounting Management Maintain and analyze standard costs and actual manufacturing costs Monitor inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and production variances Assist with month-end close activities related to cost accounting Financial Analysis & Reporting Provide detailed cost analysis and insights for budgeting and forecasting Develop reports and dashboards to support management decision-making Prepare cost estimates for new or special products Process Improvement & Internal Controls Evaluate and improve current cost accounting procedures and internal controls Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to increase cost efficiency Support audits by providing required documentation and analysis Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with production, purchasing, and finance teams to ensure cost accuracy Provide guidance on financial implications of business decisions Act as a key resource for cost-related inquiries across the organization Prerequisites Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum of 5 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel Certifications (Preferred, but not Required) CPA (Certified Public Accountant) CMA (Certified Management Accountant) What the Role Offers Competitive compensation and benefits package Opportunity to contribute to process improvement and strategic financial planning Collaborative and inclusive work environment Exposure to cross-functional teams and business operations Why Clarence?
