Job Description

Responsibilities Manage the full accounting lifecycle for multiple complex construction projects from setup through closeout. Oversee job cost accounting, budget tracking, billing, reconciliations, and project financial reporting. Prepare and review owner requisitions, retainage schedules, accounts receivable, and supporting documentation. Maintain accurate job cost records, including budgets, commitments, change orders, and projected costs to complete. Reconcile project accounting records with the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers. Analyze budget-to-actual variances, identify project risks, and provide recommendations to project leadership. Partner with Project Managers, Project Executives, and finance leadership to deliver timely financial reporting and project performance analysis. Ensure strong internal controls, accurate documentation, and compliance with company accounting policies. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiencies. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and management reports. Mentor and support junior members of the project accounting team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive construction or project accounting experience. Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, owner billings, retainage, change orders, cost codes, budgets, and project cost controls. Experience supporting large, complex, multi-phase construction projects is highly preferred. Experience with construction accounting and project management software (Sage Intacct, Procore, or similar). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and financial reporting. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced construction environment. cob2
