We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting professional to join our team in Jericho, NY. The ideal candidate will support daily accounting operations, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to accurate financial reporting within a fast-paced freight forwarding environment. This is a direct hire, full time and 100% onsite work setting.

Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities:

Manage credit control and monitor customer accounts Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records Communicate and collaborate with HQ accounting team (5 staff members) Liaise with local branch offices, operations teams, and branch managers via email and phone Learn and utilize internal accounting system (CODA) to run reports and post journal entries Review shipment data using systems such as Descartes (ONEVIEW) and CargoWise Coordinate overseas settlements with international offices and agents Assist with financial reporting and support the

Accounting Manager Staff Accountant Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Accounting or related field (or equivalent experience) Minimum 2+ years of accountant experience in corporate environment Proficiency in English (written and verbal) Japanese language skill is a big asset but not mandatory Other Asian language skill (Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, etc) will be asset Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), Word, and Outlook Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment Experience in freight forwarding or logistics industry is preferred Familiarity with CargoWise, Descartes (ONEVIEW), or similar systems Experience with accounting systems (e.g., CODA) Activ8 Recruitment & Solutions / Renaissance Resources Inc. has been a trusted leader in North American recruiting for Japanese businesses for over 25 years.
