Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Manage key month-end close activities, including cash, revenue, prepaid accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and record journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and support consistent account coding across daily accounting transactions.
- Reconcile financial accounts and investigate discrepancies, resolving issues that affect the integrity of the monthly close process.
- Work within Sage Intacct to process accounting activity, maintain records, and support routine financial operations.
- Use Google Sheets to organize data, apply common formulas, and assist with reporting and account analysis.
- Contribute approximately 30 hours per week initially, with the potential to transition to a 40-hour schedule as business needs and performance align.
- Support tax-related accounting tasks such as corporate tax, sales tax, and related financial documentation as needed.
- Adapt quickly to internal tools and workflows while providing dependable accounting support that may grow into a permanent position. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience handling month-end close responsibilities, especially in cash, revenue, prepaids, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Hands-on proficiency with Sage Intacct in a detail-focused accounting environment.
- Strong background in journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account coding, and account reconciliations.
- Working knowledge of Google Sheets, including the ability to use standard formulas for tracking and analysis.
- Solid accounting experience in corporate or operational finance settings; non-profit experience is not required.
- Familiarity with tax-related accounting functions, including corporate tax, sales tax, or corporate tax return support.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and work effectively in an evolving contract role with long-term potential.
