Job Description

The Junior Accountant supports the ASA Finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, purchase orders, and balance sheet reconciliation. This role contributes to financial reporting, budgeting, and trend analysis, while maintain the integrity of the general ledger. The position also performs general bookkeeping and administrative tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of two years of bookkeeping experience General knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall computer literacy Experience with computer accounting systems Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems Experience with budgeting and financial statement analysis
Duties/Responsibilities:
Review, process and pay vendor invoices accurately and on time Investigate and resolve discrepancies on vendor statements Prepare and issue accounts receivable invoices Assist with collections and follow-up on outstanding balances Record daily deposits and reconcile against sales reports and bank statements Assist with reconciliation and coding of credit card transactions Record ACH and check deposits as necessary Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations Support preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements Assist with budget development and annual planning processes Contribute to financial trend analysis and reporting Assist with timely and accurate month end close activities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Complete weekly check runs Perform other accounting, bookkeeping and administrative duties as assigned ASA is an employer and educator recognized for valuing AA/EEO and Protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
