Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:
Assist and work directly with the Accounting Manager to support financial processes.
Financial Reporting :
Assist prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulatory guidelines.
Internal Controls :
Assist in formulating and implementing internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with legal and organizational standards, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Accounting Operations :
Assist daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
Budgeting and Forecasting :
Support the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights for decision-making.
Audit Support :
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.
Process Improvement :
Implement and improve accounting systems, streamline financial processes, and enhance operational efficiency.
Team Collaboration :
Work closely with the Controller, accounting team, and other departments to provide financial insights, train staff, and ensure accurate reporting.
Skills & Qualifications:
Education :
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.
Experience :
At least 3
  • 5 years of progressive experience in accounting experience.
Technical Skills :
Proficiency in accounting software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Soft Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, excellent communication (written and verbal), leadership, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge :
Thorough understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and industry-specific standards. Knowledge of tax laws and compliance is essential.
Other :
Distribution, real estate, and testing lab experience and the ability to manage teams or handle sensitive financial data confidentially.
