4 months Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to assist with system clean-up in preparation for a migration. This temporary position is expected to last approximately four months and involves reconciling general ledger and subsidiary accounting records for all Americas entities and offices. Responsibilities Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary accounting records for all Americas entities and offices. Review customer account balances and identify unapplied cash, credit balances, and customer deposits that may require refunds. Research and apply unapplied customer receipts to outstanding invoices and resolve aged receivable discrepancies. Obtain and review vendor/operator accounts payable documentation, ensuring final invoices are received in place of pro forma invoices. Reconcile unapplied vendor payments and properly match payments to vendor invoices. Review charter budgets against actual operating costs, analyze variances, and investigate discrepancies with brokers and vendors. Close, reconcile, and clear outstanding purchase orders. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience as a staff accountant. Strong reconciliation skills from a services-based industry. Proficiency in reconciling unapplied cash, credit balances, and customer deposits. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field. Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs, and using filters. Experience with month-end closing and journal entries. Work Environment The position requires on-site work every day from 9 AM to 5 PM. The office offers a beautiful working space with plenty of snacks and an on-site cafeteria. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Uniondale, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
