WESTERN NEW YORK CROP MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION COOPERATIVE, INC.
Operations Accountant Job Description Duties:
The Operations Accountant manages the day-to-day financial cycle of WNYCMA. This role is responsible for ensuring service contracts are billed accurately, payments are collected, and the cooperative's financial obligations are met. This role will report to the Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Management:
Verify annual service contracts, track renewal dates, and issue client invoices.
Collections:
Monitor overdue accounts and follow up with clients to ensure timely payment via phone and email.
Banking:
Process customer payments, execute bank deposits, and reconcile accounts.
Payables & Payroll:
Process and pay vendor bills timely; execute bi-weekly staff payroll.
Equity Tracking:
Update Membership Equity based on billable activity to maintain accurate ownership records.
Budgeting:
Assist the Operations Manager in creating and monitoring the annual operating budget.
Audit Support:
Organize documentation and handle requests during CPA Auditor's annual financial review.
Reporting:
Deliver monthly financial reports tracking Actuals to Budget and Last Year levels. Prepare quarterly financial reports for the Board of Directors and Annual Financial reports for the entire membership base.
Direct operational support:
When time allows, be available to assist consultants and planners in any open tasks (e.g. scouting, soil sampling, etc.).
Employment Duration:
This is a full-time, year-round position
Compensation & Benefits:
Wage Range:
$22.00
  • $32.
00 BOE (OT paid at 1.5X).

Qualifications:
    Education :
    Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. (A concentration in Ag-Business is a plus).
      Experience:
      3-5 years of experience preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong educational background and a desire to learn the cooperative model.
        Technical Proficiency :
        High level of comfort with Microsoft Excel (formulas and data organization), Microsoft Access (filters and data organization) and the ability to quickly master QuickBooks.
          Communication :
          Strong verbal and written skills. Must be comfortable making professional phone calls to clients regarding account status and overdue payments.
          • Attention to
          Detail :
          Ability to maintain precise records for all financial activities within the cooperative.
            Work Ethic :
            A "hands-on" approach. While this is an accounting role, you must be willing to assist with operational tasks as needed during peak seasons.
              Reliability :
              Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional field support.
