Senior Accountant Location:
Cleveland, OH | Fully On-Site Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to oversee day-to-day accounting activities and serve as a key partner to the Regional Controller. This role will provide direct oversight of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable while supporting general accounting, cash activity, cost accounting, inventory, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end reporting. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being close to the day-to-day details of the business and working across multiple departments. The ideal candidate will bring experience within manufacturing, distribution, or a similar operational environment and be comfortable working with a lean accounting team. What You'll Be Doing Manage day-to-day accounting functions with a focus on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Provide direct oversight and support to AP and AR team members Partner with corporate finance and banking relationships to ensure cash activity is recorded accurately Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other general ledger activity Assist with cost accounting and inventory management Reconcile sales tax activity and coordinate with third-party tax advisors Support month-end and year-end close and financial reporting Partner with other departments to obtain information and ensure accounting records are accurate and complete Assist the Regional Controller with reporting requests from corporate finance and external parties Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and operational issues Maintain accurate and timely accounting records Develop accounting staff and promote a culture of continuous improvement Provide hands-on accounting support wherever needed within the department What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Accounting required 3+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience within manufacturing, distribution, or a similar operational environment strongly preferred Cost accounting and inventory experience preferred Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Strong understanding of general accounting, payments, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial reporting Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience working with accounting and ERP software Strong communication, research, and problem-solving skills High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across departments Previous experience overseeing or developing accounting staff preferred CPA is not requiredPay:
