Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in analyzing and managing manufacturing costs, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in cost accounting within the manufacturing industry, coupled with expertise in financial systems and data analysis. You will play a key role in optimizing cost management processes, maintaining compliance with GAAP standards, and providing insightful financial reports that drive operational efficiency. Duties Analyze manufacturing costs through detailed cost accounting analysis, identifying variances and opportunities for cost savings Prepare and interpret financial reports related to production costs, inventory valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS) Utilize ERP systems such as SAP or Xero to gather data, perform account reconciliation, and maintain accurate general ledger entries Conduct cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial report writing to support strategic planning Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections aligned with company policies Perform balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger accounting to uphold data integrity Support internal controls by ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and assisting with internal audits Skills Extensive experience with cost management, cost accounting analysis, and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment Proficiency in accounting software such as SAP, Sage, QuickBooks, Quicken, Xero, and other ERP systems Strong data analysis skills using spreadsheets and business intelligence tools for Excel data analysis and financial reporting Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), technical accounting standards, and double entry bookkeeping practices Expertise in financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, account reconciliation, and financial report interpretation Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and public accounting standards for internal controls and audit readiness Ability to perform detailed account analysis involving debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, payroll processing, and account reconciliation Join us to be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to excellence in manufacturing finance.
