About Us We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP); building automation; and industrial piping contractor. Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services. Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to develop broad-based skills across both general accounting and construction accounting. The ideal candidate will bring a foundational understanding of accounting principles, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively with operations teams across the organization. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and complete monthly account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of any discrepancies. Determine, calculate, and process sales and use tax filings in compliance with applicable state and local regulations. Manage payroll tax withholding calculations and coordinate timely remittances to the appropriate taxing authorities. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities. Maintain accurate and organized financial records in accordance with company policies and GAAP. Support the preparation of financial reporting and management reports as needed. Assist with internal or external audit requests by gathering supporting documentation and reconciliations. Support ad hoc financial analysis as needed for senior leadership. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within finance and accounting to enhance efficiency and control. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting. Foundational understanding of accounting principles. Meaningful experience in Microsoft products (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.) Analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and process flow Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
