Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive accounting expertise to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective financial management across various departments. Your analytical skills and technical proficiency will support our organization's growth, integrity, and adherence to industry standards. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulatory requirements. Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and bank reconciliations to ensure data accuracy. Manage general ledger accounting processes, including journal entries, debits & credits, and month-end closing procedures. Perform financial analysis and cash flow analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory standards related to financial reporting. Oversee internal audits and assist external auditors during annual audits to verify financial integrity. Utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken, and other financial management tools to streamline accounting operations. Support non-profit accounting activities including LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) projects and governmental accounting procedures. Mentor junior accountants and team members on technical accounting issues, regulatory compliance, and best practices in financial reporting. Maintain thorough documentation of all accounting processes, reports, and audit trails for transparency and future reference. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required with a strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting standards. Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance with a focus on financial reporting, regulatory compliance, or governmental accounting. Extensive knowledge of SOX controls, securities law, Wills & Trusts law, and non-profit accounting practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel (VLOOKUP function, spreadsheets for data analysis), Word, and PowerPoint; advanced Excel data analysis skills are highly desirable. Hands-on experience with financial software such as PeopleSoft, QuickBooks, Quicken or similar platforms; familiarity with double entry bookkeeping is essential. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and perform detailed account reconciliation. Excellent communication skills for clear report writing and interpretation of financial data to diverse audiences. Ability to mentor team members effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
