Due to an upcoming retirement after 30+ years, our client is looking for a Staff Accountant. Responsibilities Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely. Prepare and maintain accruals, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts. Perform monthly account and bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Analyze monthly financial variances and provide explanations for significant fluctuations. Maintain and update the chart of accounts as needed. Assist with preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and management reports. Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions as needed. Provide support for payroll accounting and related reconciliations. Assist with audit requests and other accounting projects as assigned. Work collaboratively with other departments and members of the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 3+ years of related accounting experience. Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
