Job Summary The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the organization s accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring compliance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles. This role works closely with the accounting and finance team to provide timely, reliable financial information that supports business decisions. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjustments. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Reconcile general ledger accounts. Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner. Help ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable accounting standards. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency. Core Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred; relevant internship experience may be considered. Working knowledge of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Familiarity with GAAP and standard accounting procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Preferred Skills and Attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Interest in continuous improvement and process automation.
