Job Description

Position Summary:
This is a role for a Plant Accountant in Lebanon, OH. The person in this role will be responsible for financial data reporting and day-to-day general accounting duties for a manufacturing plant location.
Essential Functions:
Perform general accounting functions including the processing of plant payables. Provide corporate office with a month-end AP accrual worksheet for unrecorded liabilities. Perform vendor statement reconciliations and review for irregularities. Handle vendor discrepancies and field calls regarding account status Assist corporate planning by submitting monthly estimated cash flow report. Process monthly sales and use tax filings. Assist in month-end closing activities including standard entries. Perform timekeeping and payroll processing for hourly associates. This includes the managing of overtime, employee benefits, and taxes. Process and send replies and field calls regarding employee wage garnishments Review weekly temporary timesheets for accuracy Provide backup for payroll processing function. Set up new employee work schedules and supervisor in timekeeping system Review labor, material, and scrap variances against standard. Report issues to Quality and Material teams. Review plant requisitions and verify GL accounts on non-capital plant requisition requests. Forward to the appropriate approver. Maintain spreadsheets for blanked Pos to show spend to date Submit journal entry requests to the corporate office within specified deadlines. Verify general ledger balance sheet accounts through completion of reconciliations as assigned. Research variances from budget forecast and provide commentary detailing root cause of variances. Resolve any miscoded expenses. Perform ad hoc analysis as requested to support managers' decision making. Provide support for annual budget preparation and monthly forecasts. Provide support for any internal or external audits as required. Assist with the Business Plan review. Assist with the Kaizen activity report. Support policy and process improvement initiatives and seek to identify opportunities. Must be aware of and agree to abide by the quality policy. Maintain accounting files All other duties assigned.
Job Requirements:
2 - 5 years manufacturing experience in general accounting preferred Bachelor's in accounting or finance preferred. Intermediate to advanced MS Office and computer skills Required technical skills: Understanding of Manufacturing and Accounting processes. QAD ERP System preferred.

The position may require occasional visits to a plant location in which the noise level can be moderate to high. Pay:
Up to $73,000.00 per year
