Cost Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Port Clinton, Ohio. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing and managing cost data to ensure accurate financial reporting and support operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will collaborate across departments to implement cost-saving strategies and provide valuable insights to drive informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze production costs, overhead expenses, and variances to deliver comprehensive reports on cost performance.
• Prepare and present detailed cost reports, highlighting trends and actionable insights for management.
• Manage inventory accounting processes, including reconciliations and cycle count analysis.
• Ensure the accurate valuation of inventory and address discrepancies effectively.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within operations.
• Maintain and update standard product costs based on changes in labor, materials, and overhead.
• Implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives to enhance financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and other departments to gather and analyze cost-related data.
• Provide financial guidance and support to cross-functional teams within the organization.
