Job Summary Tax Matters Inc. is seeking a motivated Tax & Accounting Associate to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in public accounting while gaining hands-on experience with tax preparation, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and client service. The successful candidate will assist with preparing individual and business tax returns, support bookkeeping and payroll functions, and work directly with clients to help maintain accurate financial records. This role offers mentorship, training, and opportunities for advancement within the firm. Duties Prepare individual and business income tax returns under supervision. Assist with tax return data collection, organization, and review. Perform bookkeeping services for small business clients. Prepare financial statements and reports. Assist clients with QuickBooks Online and bookkeeping questions. Support payroll processing and payroll tax reporting. Communicate with clients regarding requested tax and accounting information. Maintain organized electronic client files and documentation. Assist team members with various accounting and advisory projects. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Experience with bookkeeping, accounting, or tax preparation is helpful but not required. Knowledge of QuickBooks Online preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based technology. Willingness to learn and grow in a public accounting environment.
