ASAP Position Overview

A well-established Oklahoma City oil and gas company is seeking an experienced Oil & Gas Revenue Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will primarily focus on revenue accounting, with some accounts payable responsibilities and opportunities for cross-training. The ideal candidate will have strong oil and gas revenue accounting experience, excellent attention to detail, and hands-on experience with SSI oil and gas accounting software. This is a small-office environment where flexibility, organization, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities are important. Qualifications

2-3+ years of oil and gas accounting experience

Strong revenue accounting experience is highly preferred

Significant hands-on experience with SSI oil and gas accounting software strongly preferred

Understanding of oil and gas revenue and ownership structures

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities

Flexible and comfortable working in a small-office environment

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Accounting or finance degree Key Responsibilities

Process and analyze oil and gas revenue using SSI accounting software

Download and process revenue data through EnergyLink

Verify revenue received and interest paid

Review and understand revenue check details including oil, gas, liquids, prices, and ownership interests

Understand various ownership types including ORRI, WI, and RI

Utilize division of interest decks

Prepare monthly revenue processing files

Handle revenue check filing and mailing

Assist with accounts payable, including coding and data entry

Manage a high volume of manual paperwork and documentation

Meet deadlines and maintain accurate records

Cross-train and assist with other accounting functions as needed

Handle multiple tasks and priorities in a small-office environment

Additional Details

This is a hands-on accounting position with a significant amount of manual processing and paperwork. The company is working toward upgrading its systems in the future, so comfort working with established, paper-heavy processes is important. The position offers an opportunity to work across multiple accounting functions and gain exposure through cross-training. The company is open to considering candidates above the posted salary range depending on experience, particularly for candidates with strong oil and gas revenue and SSI experience.
