Job Title:
Staff AccountantJob Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day operational accounting activities within a fast-paced environment. This role will be heavily involved in month-end close, general ledger activities, and accounts payable functions, while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset. Responsibilities + Support month-end close, including preparation and posting of journal entries. + Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. + Perform bank reconciliations and investigate variances. + Manage accounts payable, including entering and coding invoices in the ERP system, creating and processing batch payment runs, and communicating with vendors regarding invoices and payment inquiries. + Assist with preparation and review of financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, and Cash Flow Statements. + Analyze financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness of records. + Utilize Excel to support reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of operational accounting experience. + Hands-on experience with month-end close, journal entries, and general ledger accounting. + Experience in bank reconciliations and accounts payable processes. + Strong understanding of financial statements and how to interpret them. + Bachelor's degree in Accounting. + Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables andVLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications + Initiative and problem-solving skills. + Personable and professional demeanor with a customer service mindset. + High level of attention to detail. + Excellent communication skills. + ERP experience with SAP or M1 preferred. + Experience in the manufacturing industry. + Experience with ASC 606 - revenue recognition is a plus. + Fluency in Japanese is advantageous. + Knowledge of IFRS and currency conversion for reporting is beneficial. Work Environment The position operates in an open office space with half walls, working 5 days a week from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $36.05/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
