Job Description:
Cost Accountant We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our growing manufacturing finance team. This role is responsible for analyzing manufacturing costs, maintaining accurate product costing, supporting inventory accounting, and providing financial insights that drive operational efficiency and profitability. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles and enjoys partnering with operations to improve processes and financial performance. Key Responsibilities Prepare and analyze product costing, standard costs, and cost variances. Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate inventory valuation. Perform monthly inventory reconciliations and assist with physical inventory counts and cycle counts. Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities. Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Maintain and update standard costs within the ERP system. Assist in developing annual budgets and manufacturing cost forecasts. Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to improve cost controls and operational efficiencies. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis, and cost accounting principles. Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis. Knowledge of GAAP and manufacturing financial reporting. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
