ERP Conversion Reconciliation Project Location:

5-Month Temporary/Project-Based Assignment We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join a team for a 5-month, fully onsite temporary assignment supporting a balance sheet reconciliation and cleanup project following a recent ERP system conversion . This project-based role will focus on reviewing migrated financial data, identifying and resolving discrepancies, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring beginning and ending balances accurately tie between legacy and converted systems. The ideal candidate will have strong reconciliation and general ledger experience, excellent Excel skills, and prior exposure to ERP conversions, migrations, or post-implementation cleanup projects. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, intercompany, and other general ledger accounts. Match beginning and ending balances by account and period to validate accurate data migration. Identify, research, and resolve out-of-balance conditions, mapping errors, and data conversion discrepancies. Match open invoices, payments, journal entries, and other transactions between legacy and new ERP systems using key identifiers such as date, amount, reference number, and vendor/customer. Identify and clear duplicate entries and unmatched transactions resulting from the ERP conversion. Reconcile intercompany balances across entities for each historical period. Age and categorize remaining open items and develop appropriate resolution plans. Flag accounts where converted balances do not tie to legacy records. Prepare detailed supporting schedules and documentation for each reconciled account. Partner with accounting and finance team members to research issues and process correcting journal entries. Provide regular project status updates and communicate key findings, risks, and outstanding items to leadership. Prepare a final reconciliation summary and documentation upon completion of the cleanup project. Qualifications 3+ years of professional accounting experience , including general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close. Previous experience supporting ERP system conversions, migrations, implementations, or post-implementation cleanup projects . Experience with Epicor or Eclipse highly preferred, but not required. SAP experience preferred. Strong understanding of balance sheet accounts and standard reconciliation processes. Intermediate Excel skills required, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, SUMIFS, and manipulation of large datasets . Experience using data reconciliation or matching tools beyond Excel, such as Access, SQL, or reconciliation software , is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. Comfortable working with large volumes of transactional and financial data. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage a defined project scope through completion. Strong communication and documentation skills.
