Job Description

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations for a food processing organization in Lancaster, California. This position plays an important role in keeping accounting records accurate, timely, and aligned with established standards. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience across core accounting functions and is comfortable working with detailed financial data in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and other closing adjustments to support monthly and annual close activities.
  • Review general ledger activity, validate account coding, and resolve discrepancies to maintain reliable financial records.
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations on a recurring basis and investigate variances as needed.
  • Track fixed assets, update depreciation schedules, and maintain supporting documentation for capitalized items.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment support, and customer billing coordination.
  • Process and record electronic fund transfers with a high level of accuracy and appropriate financial controls.
  • Compile schedules and supporting records for audit requests and help explain transaction activity during internal and external reviews.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reporting.
  • Provide financial data and analytical support for planning activities such as budgeting and forecasting.
  • Organize and maintain accounting files and records in both digital and physical formats for accessibility and compliance.
