Job Description

Job Summary The Accounting Associate position is primarily responsible for the timely processing of day-to-day operational transactions including, but not limited to, agency bill invoicing, client payment receipts and deposits, direct bill commission processing, and carrier and vendor payables. This position will also perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments as needed. The Accounting Associate performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency. Duties

• Process and post the following: o Agency bill invoices o Direct bill commission receipts o Direct bill commission statement retrieval o Direct bill commission statements o Bank Deposits and Client payment receipts Communicate with the client services team and account managers to resolve direct bill issues. Process approved invoices for payment to external suppliers. Support the carrier payable process and serve as back-up to the Senior Accounting Associate. Escalate unresolved items to supervisor per pre-determined aging timeline. Balance Sheet Reconciliations as assigned. Participate in efficiency improvement projects. Perform other related duties as assigned. May be required to work additional hours during month-end reporting to meet company deadlines. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interpret abstract information. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment. Confident, self-starter who works well independently. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in finance or accounting preferred. Minimum of two (2) years accounting experience required, preferably in a shared services accounting environment. Previous experience with an Insurance Brokerage preferred.

Pay:

$48,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
