A respected nonprofit organization is seeking a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to support grant reporting, compliance, budgeting, and day-to-day accounting activities. This role offers the opportunity to partner with program teams and help ensure funding is managed responsibly and effectively. Professional growth within an established nonprofit organization. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit financial reports for federal, state, foundation, and other grant-funded programs.
Monitor grant expenditures, funding balances, and allowable costs.
Maintain grant records and supporting documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
Reconcile grant activity to the general ledger and research discrepancies.
Assist with grant budgets, budget amendments, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Track program spending and communicate available funding to internal stakeholders.
Review invoices, purchase requests, and expense allocations for accuracy.
Partner with program managers to resolve questions regarding funding and expenditures.
Support month-end and year-end close activities.
Maintain compliance with grant agreements, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience with grant accounting, nonprofit accounting, or fund accounting.
Strong understanding of reconciliations, general ledger activity, and financial reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
