Full-Time, Exempt About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate product costing, analyzing manufacturing variances, and supporting inventory valuation and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with JobBoss ERP and a strong understanding of cost accounting principles within a job-shop or discrete manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update standard costs, routings, and bills of materials (BOMs) within the ERP Analyze and report on labor, material, and overhead variances by job, work order, and product line Monitor work-in-process (WIP) inventory and reconcile job costs to the general ledger Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end physical/cycle count reconciliations and inventory valuation Prepare cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and gross margin reporting by customer, product, and job Partner with production, purchasing, and engineering teams to identify cost drivers and process improvement opportunities Support annual standard cost roll-ups and rate development (labor, machine, and overhead rates) Assist with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations related to inventory and cost of sales Identify and investigate scrap, rework, and efficiency variances; recommend corrective actions Support internal and external audits by providing cost accounting documentation and analysis Maintain data integrity within ERP, including job setup, routing accuracy, and cost center configuration Assist with capital expenditure analysis and fixed asset costing as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment Hands-on experience with JobBoss ERP a plus (job costing, routing, inventory, and reporting modules) Strong understanding of standard/actual costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods (FIFO/standard cost) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, complex formulas) Experience in a job-shop, machining, fabrication, or discrete manufacturing setting preferred CPA, MBA, or progress toward certification a plus Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and operations teams High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills Experience with GL reconciliation and month-end close processes Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles Prior experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing industries a plus
