Job Description

STAFF ACCOUNTANT/PAYROLL SPECIALIST
Mt. Pleasant, PA $55,000-$65,000 We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant/ Payroll Specialist who is eager to grow into a Senior Accountant role. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys payroll but is looking to expand their accounting skill set and take on broader responsibilities over time. The company is committed to training and developing this individual into a key member of the accounting team.

OVERVIEW OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT/ PAYROLL SPECIALIST ROLE
Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll on a regular basis Ensure payroll accuracy, including earnings, deductions, and tax withholdings Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Assist with payroll tax filings and reconciliations Handle employee payroll-related inquiries in a timely manner Support month-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations Assist with general ledger activities and financial reporting Partner with accounting team on process improvements and special projects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT/PAYROLL SPECIALIST
1–4+ years of payroll experience Understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance Exposure to accounting principles (journal entries, reconciliations) is a plus Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, UKG, etc.) #
