Property Accountant Opportunity:
CFS is partnering with an established and growing real estate development and property management organization to hire a Property Accountant to join its accounting team in the York, PA area. This newly created Property Accountant position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting of a portfolio of approximately 8-10 properties and 7 associations. Property Accountant:
Managing full-cycle accounting for assigned properties Processing accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, payments, and vendor maintenance Handling accounts receivable activities, tenant payments, and account reconciliations Preparing journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and fixed asset schedules Performing monthly bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accuracy Analyzing tenant ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned entities Supporting lease administration by recording rent payments and monitoring outstanding balances Preparing annual CAM reconciliations and related supporting documentation Maintaining vendor W-9 records and supporting annual 1099 reporting requirements Serving as the primary accounting contact for an assigned portfolio of properties Assisting with audits, special projects, and accounting process improvements Supporting an upcoming accounting system transition and continuous process enhancements Qualifications for the
Property Accountant:
3+ years of property accounting experience required, ideally on the commercial side Experience with full-cycle accounting Strong understanding of CAM reconciliations, general ledger accounting, and month-end close processes Strong corporate accounting background Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously A reliable, steady, and consistent work style Strong attention to detail and accuracy A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams Adaptability and openness to process improvements and system changes
Schedule:
Monday-Friday,40-hour work week (Core hours of 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM with flexible scheduling outside of core hours). Primarily onsite in York, PA, with remote capability when needed
