Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), governmental regulations, and internal policies. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, support budgeting and financial analysis, and contribute to the overall financial health of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse financial software systems and develop your skills in corporate and public accounting environments. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software -- primarily QuickBooks. Conduct account analysis and perform month-end closing activities including account reconciliation and ledger maintenance. Support budgeting processes through Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and financial modeling. Handle confidential information with integrity while ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit standards. Assist with technical accounting tasks related to revenue recognition, expense allocation, or other complex transactions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies in accounts receivable/payable and improve financial workflows. Maintain accurate records of all accounting transactions while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements. Support external audits by preparing documentation and providing detailed account explanations as needed. Experience Proven accounting experience in corporate or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP and governmental accounting standards. Hands-on experience working with various financial software systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms. Demonstrated ability in bookkeeping, account reconciliation, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management. Familiarity with technical accounting concepts including debits & credits, double entry bookkeeping, account analysis, budgeting, credit analysis, and financial acumen. Strong numeracy skills combined with proficiency in Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management for detailed financial reporting. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Experience handling confidential information securely while demonstrating high levels of integrity and professionalism. $59,105.58 - $71,180.91 per year
