Our Values:
Innovation, Integrity, Learning, Communication, Teamwork, Belonging, and FUN Accountant As our Accountant, you will maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, reconcile accounts, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. You'll support budgeting, reporting, and audits while identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency in an engineering focused environment. You're comfortable working with prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other accrual based accounting practices, and you're trusted to perform your duties with little to no supervision while holding yourself, and our books, to a high standard of accuracy and integrity. You'll report to the Director of Business Operations, and may guide the work of junior accounting staff and interns along the way. Your Values:
Accuracy, Integrity, and Accountability How you'll spend your days: Recording daily financial transactions in the accounting system Preparing and recording journal entries to maintain accurate financial records, including entries for prepaid expenses, depreciation, and accruals Reconciling general ledger, bank, and credit card accounts Processing accounts payable and receivable, and approving vendor invoice payments Maintaining bank cash management and supporting cash flow forecasting Performing month end closing activities and supporting year end closing Preparing credit card expense reports for card holders Assisting with payroll processing, including accuracy of compensation, deductions, and benefits Preparing 1099s and compliance reports Supporting budget preparation and monitoring financial forecasts Providing financial data and reports for management Assisting with internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial data Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and implementing best practices What you'll bring: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger functions Analytical and problem solving skills to identify discrepancies and provide solutions Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Critical thinking and sound decision making capabilities A self motivated, collaborative, and adaptable approach to your work Ability to learn and adapt to new accounting systems, software, and tools Integrity and commitment to financial accuracy and compliance Comfort working independently, with little to no supervision A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous process improvement Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs You'll know you're succeeding when: Monthly reconciliations are complete by the 10th business day Financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) are accurate and delivered within 3 business days of month close Tax and reporting deadlines, including 1099s and payroll filings, are met 100% of the time Journal entries and transaction processing maintain a 95%+ accuracy rate Vendor invoices are processed within established payment terms, 100% of the time Audit documentation is provided within 2 business days of request Our team members enjoy: Salary of $75,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications Incredible suite of benefits The opportunity to work with a respected engineering firm where accuracy, integrity, and collaboration genuinely matter
