Job Description

Water Street Coffee Joint is seeking a meticulous, systems-oriented Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day operations, preparing financial reports, and helping ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, labor practices, and company policies. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate and timely accounting records and financial transactions Maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities Collaborate on account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Analyze and summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing financial statements and reports Aid in bi-weekly payroll and benefits management Develop and enhance vendor and customer relationships Maintain and evolve pricing protocol; ensure product level and company sales margins are optimized Prepare and interpret financial information for leadership Advise on procedure and financial management Develop procedures to improve efficiency Forecast and plan for future business growth Assist with audits and taxes Proactive ensure the company meets its legal and regulatory obligations Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and company information Update job knowledge regularly by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and reviewing any new legislation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience required Experience with Quickbooks Online required Experience with Toast POS is a plus Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets Consistently maintains clear, accurate, and thorough documentation Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information
